01 / Our ruleset
Non-RP Guild on the RP Ruleset
Sojourn’s End is a non-roleplaying guild on the roleplaying ruleset. We chose the RP ruleset because we appreciate its naming conventions and hope to find a community that places greater value on immersion, the world itself and enjoying the journey, rather than gearing, optimisation and progression.
We also recognise that roleplay is an important part of the ruleset’s identity. We expect our members to respect roleplayers, follow RP naming conventions and avoid disrupting in-character interactions.
Anyone who wishes to develop a character backstory or participate in roleplay is absolutely welcome to do so. It’s simply not something the guild itself organises or requires.
02 / Our name
What is Sojourn’s End?
The name Sojourn’s End reflects the idea of finding a place to call home. After years of moving between different versions of World of Warcraft, revisiting old adventures or searching for the right experience, Forever offers an opportunity to settle in and enjoy Azeroth for the long haul.
03 / Our philosophy
Our Philosophy
Our aim is to experience Azeroth at a relaxed pace, appreciating the journey rather than rushing to the destination. It does not matter what your skill level is, or whether you even intend to reach max level with a character. Alts are encouraged in the spirit of exploration and enjoyment, and will help ensure that there are people to play with in the guild at whatever level of progress you choose.
Our interests include questing, levelling, exploration, professions, collecting, dungeons and casual group content. Raiding may be something we explore in the future, but it is not a priority. We don’t envision Sojourn’s End as a scheduled raiding or progression guild. If these things are essential to you, we may not be the best fit. Similarly, rushing to level cap and min-maxing mindsets are not part of our culture.
04 / Our community
Community and Conversation
Respect, maturity and meaningful conversation are at the heart of our community.
We value genuine curiosity, thoughtful discussions and people who take an interest in getting to know one another, both inside and outside of the game. We don’t want to be a community dominated by memes, spam or endless low-effort messages. That doesn’t mean every conversation has to be serious! Light-hearted humour and playfulness are very much welcomed, however disrespectful or abusive conduct will not be tolerated.
We welcome people from all backgrounds, walks of life, and personality types. We believe a community is richer for its diversity, and that we don’t need to be alike to belong together. What matters isn’t who you are outside the game, or whether you share the same tastes, interests, or temperament as everyone else. It’s the values we share, the way we treat one another, and our common approach to enjoying Azeroth together.
That said, political discussions are not permitted in Sojourn’s End. This is a blanket rule, regardless of the viewpoints involved.
05 / Membership
Membership and Activity
There are no attendance requirements or expectations around how frequently you play. It is totally fine to unsub for a month and get caught up with life or different games. If you expect to be away for three months or longer, we ask that you let guild leadership know via Discord to avoid being removed for inactivity.
Discord membership is required, but voice chat is entirely optional and there are no minimum participation requirements.
06 / Leadership
Leadership
Sojourn’s End was founded by three Australian players with a shared vision on how they want to play and the community they want to build.
All three founders serve as guild officers with equal authority and responsibility. There is no single guild leader above the others. Wherever possible, decisions affecting the guild will be discussed and agreed upon collectively.
Our goal is to be approachable, fair and transparent, and to make decisions that support the long-term wellbeing of the guild.
07 / Your next chapter
Joining Sojourn’s End
We’re primarily looking for Oceania-based players, or people whose usual playing hours overlap with Australian and New Zealand time zones.
We’re interested in finding people who share our outlook, rather than recruiting as many members as possible. Prospective members will be asked to complete a short application when joining our Discord server. This helps us see whether we’re likely to be a good social fit.
If you’re looking for a relaxed home in Azeroth, enjoy meaningful conversation and believe that the people you play with matter more than how quickly you progress, we’d love to hear from you.
Welcome to Sojourn’s End.
